Portadown 22 - 26 City of Derry City of Derry will play their rugby in AIL Division 3 and the Ulster Senior League next season after a battling display which condemns Portadown to what promises to be a titanic struggle with Armagh for the Kukri Qualifying League!
The large crowd of travelling supporters were put through a nervous final ten minutes as Portadown threatened to spoil the party with two late trys, but to their credit the players closed out the game with a lenghty period of possession culminating with Andrew Semple kicking the ball to the massed ranks of Derry supporters to start the celebrations!

COMING UP
City of Derry will start their All Ireland League campaign with a trip everyones favourite away venue, Clifden, to face the Conemara All Blacks on Saturday 2nd October, 2010. While we have been fortunate to get eight home games and seven away games we do face two games in Cork, one in Nenagh and two in Dublin, with only one away game in Ulster. We will look forward to renewing rivalries with old acquaintances and welcoming new friends to Judges Road.
Before that our Ulster Senior League campaign will start at Banbridge on 28th August, 2010, with our first match back in the Ulster Senior Cup on 11th September, 2010 where we face Rainey Old Boys at Judges Road. |
