Londonderry YMCA may be having problems at times in fielding a quality second XV but to their credit they fulfilled both their fixtures against City of Derry this season.

This match was really a continuation of where the sides left off when they last met some weeks ago at Drumahoe. YM battled valiantly but they had no answer to this young fit Thirds side who are benefiting from the B squad training sessions that have been superbly organized by Michael Poole and Elite coach Peter Corr this winter

Highlight of the game was the wonderful running of John Laverty who scored a hat trick and was instrumental in so much of what Derry produced. Not to be outdone Philip Patterson had a superb game also and his support running was outstanding allowing him to score a hat trick of tries as well. Brilliant stuff by Michael OKanes lads all round and a joy to watch.
