City of Derry 4th XV

Keeping it Social

Before the teams are released for the matches this weekend, City of Derry have some great news to share with you!

The season has well and truly started and sees regular fixtures for the 1s, 2s and 3s, the U20s, U18s, U16s, U14s and the Mini's, as well as the City of Derry Ladies Rugby. It's great to see so much rugby being played and this is thanks to all the staff and volunteers who put a lot into the club. Not only to them, but to everyone who has attended training and signed up to join the club. It is with this success, that we will fielding a 4th XV team!

With their first match being against Letterkenny 2s on the 24th October, it's fantastic news that we have enough people buying into the club and looking to play rugby, meaning that we can have a full playing squad of 60+ at senior level.

The 4th team is aimed at those who struggle to get a game on a Saturday due to work or other events, for those looking for a few social rugby games during the year and for anyone who fancies a run out on a Wednesday evening. If you still know of anybody that wants to try rugby or get back involved for a few social games, there will be minimal travel involved for the games and lots of fun, confirmed by Paul Okane. There are still a couple of boys in the club who are yet to get a match and so with a few boys, a regular 4th side is a real possibility in the future!
